Mission Statement:
Shefford Majorettes aims to provide exercise and entertainment in a safe and enjoyable environment. Giving the opportunity to develop confidence and Team spirit, promoting discipline in a fun and challenging way.
History:
Mr Andy Smyth, who continues to serve as our President, established Shefford Majorettes as a charity in 1987.
The Troupe consists of 30 girls whose age’s range from 5-15 years from Shefford, and the surrounding Bedfordshire villages. Additionally we have two girls who travel from Bromham and Kempston.
Practice Sessions:
Practice sessions take place weekly on Tuesday evenings during term time from 7.00-8.30pm at the Memorial Hall in Shefford. Every September we take in new recruits who are trained ready for the summer display season. The troupe’s uniform colours are kingfisher blue and white.
Under the guidance and supervision of our three trainers, Marina, Kelly and Heather the girls practice and learn marching, baton twirling, ribbon and pom pom routines and displays for presentation at various local events, including carnivals, and fete’s.

Sponsorship:
Shefford Majorettes are run by a Committee of parents who meet regularly to ensure the smooth running of the Troupe and to co-ordinate bookings.
We are fortunate to have recently received financial support from the local community. In 2001 thanks to a donation from the Shefford Firework Fund we were able to purchase an entire set of silk sashes bearing the Shefford Majorette logo. A further donation in 2002 has enabled us to purchase 4 matching display flags.

|
|
A further grant from Bedfordshire County Council Community Fund has enabled us to order a new set of pom poms for use at displays.
This year Mr Matt Bell from the Esso Service Station has agreed to provide refreshment for the girls.

As a small voluntary group, funds for renewing and updating uniforms, equipment, travel and refreshments are always vital. We are very grateful to these organisations for their support. Sponsorship enables us to purchase new equipment and progress with the troupe and our displays. We are always looking for more sponsorship. If you can contribute in anyway, please contact us.
If you are interested in becoming a majorette, would like to book for Shefford Majorettes for an event or are able to help support us in any way please contact either:
