WELCOME TO 'NEWSLINE'

Welcome to your new look Shefford Newsline. I hope you like the change and enjoy reading the articles and information included. If you have any comments, please forward them to me at the address at the end of the diary page.
In addition to the usual local articles, this issue includes information regarding the new refuse collection being introduced in October an issue which is causing some concern to many residents.
I would like to thank the organisers of the Summer Fayre for their efforts once again this year. It was a splendid day and the weather looked kindly upon us. I would also like to thank Martin Wren and his team for organising the parade also the police for their co-operation with traffic management. Many people have asked whether we will see the parade again next year. We hope so, and with more participants. If you think your organisation or business would like to take part look out for information early in the next year.
Many of you will already have met our new vicar Rev. John Harper and his wife Sandra, I would like to welcome them to the area and wish them a long and happy stay here.

SHEFFORD CRAFT AND PRODUCE 25th SHOW
SATURDAY 25th SEPTEMBER 2004

There is still time to enter the show which is held in the METHODIST HALL, Ampthill Road. Please remember that all entry forms need to be in by SATURDAY 18th SEPTEMBER. Mums, dads, grandparents and children all enjoy having a go, seeing their entry on display and receiving the small thank you we give them for entering. Please give them a chance to enter something, they may win a prize!
We have a family cup which is presented to the family (at least one parent and one child under 17 years old) that gains the most points at the show. Why not let your family try it this year.
We are pleased to receive visitors to the show, so even if you have not entered, come and see the entries. We also serve freshly brewed tea or coffee and homemade cake.
Our quiz is still available, £1 from committee members. You have until Saturday September 18th to complete it.
