Do you recognise the cover photograph? The carved trunk stands at the entrance to Drovers Spinney, a new walk in the centre of Shefford, more about it inside the magazine.
I note with dismay, the increasing number of local organisations pleading for volunteers, including Whitbread Wanderbus needing more Volunteer drivers. For more details please telephone 01462 850075. Training is given.
Other organisations are also asking for volunteers, please see inside the magazine for details. Many of the groups do not want a regular commitment, just a few hours at a particular time of the year or when certain tasks are being undertaken. You think you do not have any relevant skills? Someone will find a job for you to do! Think about it, I am sure you will find something of interest to you. It is also an opportunity for you to meet new people and make new friends! Whatever your age or ability your town needs you!
I have been asked to draw your attention that one of the concerns coming out of the Town Plan Consultation, currently being analysed, is the number of you complaining and commenting about the amount of litter lying around the area. Please put litter in the bins provided or take it home with you for disposal. Help to keep the streets clean. Remember it is your money, paid in Community Charge, which is spent trying to keep streets clean and litter free!
The Regular Meetings page has some new entries in this issue and additional information added. If you have not looked at the page recently please do, as it is updated every issue. If your group or organisation would like to be included in this section or wishes to publicise a forthcoming event on the diary page please send the details to me.
