Editorial
It was wonderful to see so many people turn out for the new Summer Fayre.
Our grateful thanks go to the newly formed Shefford Lights Committee for arranging such a successful event for the community.
The Lower School Fete was also well supported and our front cover photograph shows some of the youngsters enjoying the fancy dress competition.
I hope that the community will continue to support with the same enthusiasm the 21st Craft and Produce show in September. Support for this event has waned over the past few years, but it would be a shame if we lost this well-established event through lack of community interest, particularly at a time when there are so many new residents in Shefford who could display their talents. This year a new class has been introduced for both adult and junior groups or organisations in addition to the usual individual classes. If you cannot be inspired to take part in the show, please go along to see what others have done and while there enjoy a nice cup of tea. How about more entries from the men? Schedules and Quiz Sheets are available now.
I would like to welcome Age Concern to the Town. Their new High Street shop is now open from 9am to 5pm daily excluding Sunday Volunteers are always needed in the shop and contributions of clothing, bric-a-bac, books and toys etc. are always welcome. If you can help in any way please contact Mrs. P Thompson on 811384.
The long awaited Multi-Use Games Area, now known as The Bloomfield Games Association should be ready for use shortly Please look out for progress reports and details in the local press.
