Shefford now has a Youth Council called "Shefford Shout Out" which aims to establish activities and facilities for the Youth of Shefford. We are linked directly with the Shefford Town Council so as to make sure our views are represented.
Our first meeting took place on 2nd March. So far we have developed a questionnaire and have been given a start up grant of £100 from the Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC).
So far we have 12 people, ranging in age from 12-18 years on the Youth Council. We would like other young people to come along and express their views on entertainment etc. in Shefford.

Hopefully by the time you read this, Shefford's New Playground will be up or at least started. We have now reached our target of £27,500, due to the generosity and support of people in and around Shefford. THANK YOU TO YOU ALL. We had a very successful few days preparing the ground and would like to extend a special Thank You to all those who helped: Our Hardworking Committee; Shefford Lions; Simon; Neil; Colin; Dave Jordan; Young Chris;Aidie and their mate; Lucie who made us sandwiches and her hubbie who dug! Jenny - who saved our lives with cups of tea in the pouring rain and her fellow tea makers Belinda and Miriam; and finally a BIG thank you to Mr. Newman and his tractor who saved us hours of digging.
