SHEFFORD GALA
The Gala takes place on Sunday 2lst June and promises to be a splendid occasion, all we need is co-operation on the weather front.
The fun commences at the Shefford Memorial Association (Digswell) at 2pm where there will be many stalls and displays to keep everyone occupied.
Alongside the old favourites like the sway boats, bouncy castle and roundabout will be a mechanical organ giving out with true fairground musical renditions.
The clown will be entertaining the younger children on his walkabout and a jazz band will be playing together with the town band (at different times).
The procession through the town forms on the industrial estate at 12.30pm. Judging of the floats takes place and then, led by the majorettes, the procession moves off at 1. l5pm with the floats classic motorcycles and cars, steam engines and the fire and ambulance services bringing up the rear.
The event is organised by the Chamber of Trade and all the proceeds will go towards the Christmas Lights Fund.
There is still time to book a stall or more importantly to get together and put a float in the parade, a rush of blood to the head please, and let's see what Shefford can do!!!
A Grand Prize Sweepstake will be drawn at the gala, there will be a total of 50 prizes including three `mountain' bikes, accessories, hampers, electrical goods, special service offers etc. Tickets are already on sale, please support generously and ensure the best Christmas Lights ever!!!!!
